Vacancy at HESS

Currently we have several positions for Ujung Pangkah Phase II Offshore Development . These are contract-based positions with initial location-based in Jakarta and all positions require availability to be placed in our Contractor's/ construction' s site.

1. CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER
Main activities:

Responsible for providing fabrication management during the project development and execution phases of the project, including, but limited to:

- Monitoring of Contractor associated with the fabrication and assembly of the offshore O&G process facilities and supporting systems and utilities;
- Ensure all work is performed to defined and agreed quality standards;
- Maintain full coordination within site and reporting to the Construction Superintendent;
- Safety of personal at site.

Requirements:

- University graduate in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years working experience in offshore construction involving the fabrication of complex/major O&G process facilities;
- Strong interpersonal skills required;
- Experience as Client's Site Representative in supervision and management of construction activity;
- Mobility to be based at contractor's sites consistent with the overall construction responsibility;





2. PROCESS ENGINEER (2 positions)

Main activities:

Provide process engineering advice during the project development and execution phases including, but not limited to:
- Provision of specialist engineering support to project execution activities;
- Ensuring that appropriate engineering standards and specifications are defined and complied with,
- Respond to Contractors process engineering technical queries;
- Provide recommendations, input and direction to the Contractors process engineering design effort in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for Purpose; review and where necessary verification of design and engineering activities; ensuring process engineering deliverables comply with the project design and operation philosophies established in the design basis and/or performance specifications;

- Participation in Hazard Studies and risk assessments as required;
- Reviewing commissioning plans and procedures;
- Support to construction and commissioning activities.

Requirements:
- University graduate in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience in offshore process facilities design, PFD and P&ID development, etc.
- Proficient in process engineering calculation i.e. mass and energy balances, hydraulics, equipment, sizing and rating, relief calculations, etc.
- Experience in the application of cause and effect diagrams and the use of API standards (API 14C, 520, 521 etc)
- Experience with process system control design and development of control philosophies.
- Experience in the use and application of process simulation software (Hysys, PROII etc)
- Experience in the support and contribution of project development teams and management of contractors.

3. PIPING ENGINEER (2 positions)
Main activities:

- Provide recommendations, input and direction regarding Contractor performance in the areas of equipmnet / piping layout and design and review of piping documents and specifications to ensure Contractors compliance with the agreed scope of work in order to facilitate progress and achieve fitness for purpose.
- Provide technical support through Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation/ Commissioning activities.

Requirements:
- University graduate in a mechanical engineering discipline; and/or
- Have at least 10 years piping engineering design experience
- Demonstrate ability of 3D model experience, either PDMS or PDS as well as experience in pipe stress analysis.

4. ASSISTANT PROJECT ENGINEER
Main activities:

Reporting to and at the direction of the CPP Senior Project Engineer, responsible for providing project assistance during the project development and execution phases of the project, including, but limited to:

- Assistance in management of the Contractor project delivery team resources to meet the safety, environmental, technical, cost, quality and schedule requirements of assigned project scope in accordance with Hess procedures;
- Coordination of project scope interfaces;
- Implementing project management systems, standard practices and design specifications required to effectively perform the design, procurement and construction process;
- Ensuring that all vendor data, design and operational information is obtained, reviewed and distributed to Hess in a timely manner;
- Ensuring that all cost commitments are recorded for assigned project scope and prepare final cost forecasts.

Requirements:

- University graduate with a minimum of ten (10) years or more on offshore oil & gas related projects, and acted as a project engineer for at least four (4) years during this period on multi-million dollar projects;
- Strong interpersonal skills required;
- Experience as Client's Site Representative in supervision and management of construction activity;
- Mobility to be based at contractor's sites consistent with the overall construction responsibility.

5. DEPUTY CONSRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
Main activities:

Reporting to the Construction Superintendent, responsible for providing fabrication management during the project development and execution phases of the project, including, but limited to:
- Monitoring of Contractor associated with the fabrication and assembly of the offshore O&G process facilities and supporting systems and utilities;
- Ensure all work is performed to defined and agreed quality standards;
- Maintain full coordination within site and reporting to the Construction Superintendent;
- Safety of personal at site.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 25 years working experience in offshore construction with a minimum of 15 years superintendent level experience involving the fabrication of complex/major O&G process facilities;
- Strong interpersonal skills required;
- At least 10 years experience of oil and gas construction activity in South East Asia;
- Experience as Client's Site Representative in supervision and management of construction activity;
- Mobility to be based at contractor's sites consistent with the overall construction responsibility;
- Working knowledge and ability to communicate verbally in Bahasa.

6. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Main activities:

Provide electrical engineering advice during the project development and execution phases of the project, including, but limited to:
- Provide recommendations, input and direction regarding Contractor performance in electrical engineering;
- Review of all project electrical documentation including philosophies, specifications, calculation, reports etc as per project requirements in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for purpose;
- Providing first line response to Contractors electrical engineering technical queries;
- Provide technical support through Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation/ Commissioning activities.

Requirements:
- University graduate in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 8 years experience in power generation (MV/LV), distribution and motor control on projects of similar or larger scale;
- Able demonstrate a good working knowledge of international codes and standards appropriate to his discipline and should ideally come from a detailed engineering background within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry, preferably supplemented with construction and commissioning experience on projects of a similar nature;
- Familiar with all standard electrical engineering drawings, calculations and reports, and shall be capable of reviewing and guiding Contractor document submissions in all respects with particular emphasis on generator sizing, lighting calculations, load lists, overall single line diagrams, short circuit studies, load stability and motor starting analysis, protection co-ordination studies etc.

7. INSTRUMENT ENGINEER
Main activities:

Provide recommendations, input and direction during the development and execution phases of the project in the area of instrumentation engineering, including but not limited to:

- Review of all project E&I documentation as per project requirements in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for purpose;
- Providing first line response to Contractors instrumentation engineering technical queries;
- Monitor the work of the Contractor and provide technical support through Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation/ Commissioning activities;
- Responsible for ensuring that all aspects of field instrumentation, control systems, and inter-system communications interfaces necessary for successful operation of the platform process and utilities systems are according to the project specifications;
- Provide detailed direction and input, for all Instrument related documentation including but not limited to: control philosophies, specifications, data sheets, block diagrams, cause & effect matrices etc together with inter-discipline checks on associated equipments and systems;
- Work closely with the EPC Contractor to ensure achievement of Hess's goals without adversely impacting the EPC Contractor's responsibilities under the Contract.

Requirements:

- University graduate in a related engineering discipline together with a minimum of 8 years experience in Instrument and Control systems with particular emphasis on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Fire & Gas (FGS) / Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), preferably gained in the Oil & Gas /Petrochemicals industry;
- Able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of international codes and standards appropriate to his discipline and should ideally come from a detailed engineering background within the Oil & Gas or petrochemical industry, preferably supplemented with construction and commissioning experience on projects of a similar nature.

8. TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEER

Main activities:

Provide recommendations, input and direction during the development and execution phases of the project in the area of telecommunications engineering, including but not limited to:

- Review of all project E&I documentation as per project requirements in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for purpose;
- Providing first line response to Contractors telecommunications engineering technical queries;
- Monitor the work of the Contractor and provide technical support through Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation/ Commissioning activities;
- Work closely with the EPC Contractor to ensure achievement of Hess's goals without adversely impacting the EPC Contractor's responsibilities under the contract.

Requirements:

- University graduate in a related engineering discipline and/or
- Have at least 10 years experience in the design, specification, installation and testing of telecommunications on offshore projects.
- Familiar with all relevant communications and networking protocols which may be required for the above equipment as a minimum
- Have a good working knowledge of all applicable codes and standards and capable of verifying philosophy and specification documents supplied by Contractor and Vendors to meet project requirements. Have experience in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance and fault-finding of the above listed equipments

9. MECHANICAL STATIC ENGINEER

Main activities:

Provide engineering advice during the project development and execution phases in the areas of mechanical static, package and rotating equipment design, including, but not limited to:

- Review documents and specifications as per project requirements in order to facilitate progress and achieve fitness for purpose design;
- Providing first line response to Contractors piping and facilities design and layout, rotating equipment and mechanical engineering technical queries;
- Monitor the work of the Contractor and provide technical support through Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation/ Commissioning activities;
- Work closely with the EPC Contractor to ensure achievement of Hess's goals without adversely impacting the EPC Contractor's responsibilities under the contract.

Requirements:

- University graduate in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 10 years mechanical engineering design experience in the areas of static and packaged equipment. Further experience in rotating equipment and pedestal cranes would be an added advantage.
- A working familiarity with international design codes and standards is a basic requirement.
- Experience with support and contribution to project development teams and the management of contractors.
- Additional experience outside the design office environment such as in fabrication and site construction would be a plus.

10. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Main activities:

Provide structural engineering advice during the project development and execution phases including, but not limited to:

- Overseeing and responsible for the overall quality regarding Contractor performance in the areas of structural engineering and design;
- Reviewing all project structural design documentation for compliance with project requirements in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for purpose;
- Oversee/perform in-house related structural engineering reviews/checks of proposed Greenfield designs and Brownfield modifications using SACS software;
- Provides review and overview of Contractors lifting plans;
- Provide technical support through Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication and Installation/ Commissioning activities.

Requirements:

University graduate in civil engineering with structural engineering emphasis having a minimum of 15 years relevant experience in the design, fabrication and installation of offshore structures. He/she shall have a comprehensive knowledge of:

- Design techniques in structural steel engineering including finite element analysis and associated computer software;
- Design and fabrication detail drawings;
- Codes of practice for structural steelwork erection and welding applications;
- Installation of jacket structures, piles, decks and modules;
- Weighing procedures and structure center of gravity calculations;
- Lifting equipment including offshore derrick barge cranes;
- Relevant International Standards and Codes of Practice normally used in the oil and gas industry including, but not limited to : API, BS, AISC, DNV.

11. INSTALLATION & COMISSIONING SUPERINTENDENT
Main activities:

- Management and daily supervision of Company personnel and monitoring of Contractor planning, engineering and execution of the installation and commissioning of complex O&G Greenfield and Brownfield facilities and infield flowlines.


Requirements:
- University graduate in a related engineering discipline with a minimum of 15 years experience in the O&G industry
- A minimum of 10 years working experience engineering/ supervising the installation and commissioning of offshore facilities and pipelines
- Having worked at least one previous project as commissioning manager of an offshore processing facility.
- Strong interpersonal skills required.

12. COMISSIONING SUPERVISOR

Main activities:

Responsible for overseeing the quality of planning, coordination, maximizing efficiency and maintaining safety of Contractor performance of Hook-Up, Pre commissioning, and Commissioning activities of offshore O&G processing and other facilities for meeting Company start-up requirements. The Commissioning Supervisor shall provide onshore and offshore leadership and direction throughout the pre-commissioning and commissioning phases of the project to ensure that all such activities are conducted in accordance with Hess requirements, and that all work is safely, efficiently and effectively executed in accordance with the relevant criteria, specifications and procedures. Key responsibilities for the Commissioning Supervisor shall include:
- Development of the pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover strategies, methodologies and schedules;
- Development of the pre-commissioning, procedures and checklists; and
- Management of the development and implementation of all pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover activities.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering related field.
- Have a minimum of fifteen (15) years experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least eight (8) years experience working as a Commissioning engineer / manager.
- Have experience as a Commissioning Manager on at least one (1) previous project essentially similar in scope to that contemplated under the project.
- Have a good understanding of all applicable codes, standards, specifications and safety policies/procedures .
- Have excellent interpersonal, planning, scheduling and organizational skills as well as superior written and oral communication abilities and a high regard for QA/QAC and EHS adherences during all aspects of the work.

13. INSTALLATION ENGINEER
Main activities:

Supervising and executing the offshore portion of the project such that it is accomplished with the highest quality and in the most safe, efficient and timely manner possible. His duties shall include managing the Contractor with respect to:

- Installation sequences and methods;
- Review and monitor the Contractor design and procedures documentation as per project requirements in order to facilitate progress and to achieve fitness for purpose;
- Provide technical assistance from planning stages through to offshore installation acceptance;
- Setting work priorities and allocation of manpower; equipment, materials and consumables.

Requirements:
- University graduate in a related engineering discipline and/or have a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in the design, fabrication and installation of offshore facilities.
- Have a good understanding of all applicable codes, standards, specifications and safety policies/procedures , as well as good experience in managing offshore installation logistics.
- Have excellent interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills as well as good written and oral communication abilities and a high regard for QA/QAC and EHS adherences during all aspects of the project.
- International construction experience, especially within Indonesia is highly desirable.

14. PROJECT CONTROLS ENGINEER

Main activities:

Provide scheduling and cost management support services during the project development and execution phases including, but not limited to:

- Regular maintenance of in-house project schedules,
- Application of critical path analysis planning techniques, trend analysis and forecast techniques;
- Perform lifecycle cost analysis;
- Review and monitoring of Contractor project schedules, manpower plans, and advise on maintaining work schedules;
- Preparation of monthly schedules and cost data for monthly reports, providing advice to project engineers on actions that can be taken or are necessary to achieve project goals; and
- Provide other analytical and project support when required.

Requirements:

University graduate with a minimum of eight (8) years or more on offshore oil & gas related projects, and acted as a Planning engineer for at least two (2) years during this period on multi-million dollar projects. The incumbent shall have demonstrated pro-active / pre-emptive qualities in managing offshore oil & gas related projects. He/she shall have knowledge of:

- Engineering planning software e.g. Artemis, Project Manager, PS6/7 Microsoft Project, Primavera;
- Critical path analysis planning techniques;
- Methods of effective presentation of planning and forecast data and information; and
- Trend analysis and forecast techniques.
