Assistant Manager, Marine Operations/Testing & Commissioning
(Vietnam)
Responsibilities:
* Assist during vessel systems Testing & Commissioning including Sea Trial with Class & Vendor Reps
* Operations & Barge Master for Submersible Barge
* Primarily Responsible for Jacking Operations of Lift Boats after leg erection
* Ensure all major equipment are installed according to approved drawings
* Ensure commissioning tasks are completed
* Obtain & study vendor’s pre-commissioning punch lists
* Inspection & Reporting of equipment readiness for Commissioning Test/Sea Trial
* Minor adjustments and intervention on equipment under test, as and when required
* Execution of Load Tests, Certification Tests of Cranes & Jacking Systems per approved Procedures
* Data Recording for all test results and reporting
* Follow-up & Verification of any punch list issued by Client/Class
* Operation & maintenance of the Submersible Barge at wharf or designated area during Loading/Offloading Operations
* Verification of sea-fastenings on Submersible Barge according to approved plans
* Preparation for Towing Operation of Submersible Barge and accompany Submersible Barge on the tug
Requirements:
* Relevant experience as a Chief Engineer with at least 5 years related work experience
* Relevant training for equipment systems and HSE training
* Ability to settle problems within established guidelines
* Ability to train & lead a team
* Willing to be based in Vietnam

Requirements:
Qualification
* Hold a recognized HND / HNC in Mechanical Engineering OR Equivalent
* Competency Certificates from and International Training Institute (e.g. DOSH, Worksafe, OPITO) in:
a) Advanced Rigging and Slinging
b) Advanced Banksman
c) Onshore / Offshore Crane Operator
d) Assessor A32, A33, CERTIFICATE IV, or equivalent
e) Train The trainer
Experience Level
* Must have a minimum of 5 years as a Lifting Supervisor
* Must have a minimum of 2 years as a Materials Handling Instructor
Knowledge Level
* Familiar with OIL & GAS HSE – MS, including documents on Health, Safety and Environment
* Familiar with OIL & GAS lifting and hoisting standards, legislation and industry best practises, in this region.
* Familiar with OIL & GAS, Permit To Work (PTW) system and procedures, Location HSE Cases, Operations, Maintenance Procedures,
* Familiar with Risk Management Framework and Safe system of Work
* Familiar with writing Job Hazards Analysis (JHA’s)
* Familiar with writing Lift Plans
IT Skills and Communication
* Competent in the use of Word, Excel and Power Point
* Personal skills (skilled in communication, time management, teamwork)
Language
* Must be able to speak and write good English & Malay
Employment permits
* An employment pass will be arranged for an initial 1 year full time employment to be based in Miri, Sarawak, East Malaysia. This contract is renewable on yearly basis on mutual agreement. From 2nd year onward, rotation to SMTC Global country offices in Middle East.
